Home Minister Balkrishna Khand who is also looking after the responsibility of the Prime Minister, has said discussions with the Communist Party of Nepal led by Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplav' were continuous.

Home Minister Khand said it during a press meet organized at the ministry on Saturday. The Prime Minister, Home Minister, and Law Minister were holding discussions with the Biplav-led party for some time. The Biplav-led party had also held discussions with the leaders of other ruling political parties and major opposition.

Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma 'Prakanda' has been assigned as a negotiator from the Biplav side.

Minister Khand reiterated that the government was committed to ensuring durable peace in the country by concluding the peace process with continuous dialogue and discussion with all political parties. It was informed at the press meet that homework was underway to withdraw the cases filed against leaders/cadres of the Biplav-led party and release the detainees in a lawful manner.

The homework is being made jointly by the Office of Attorney General, Home Ministry, and Law Ministry to identify the cases and condition of the detainees, Minister Khand said, adding, "Agreement is made to discuss in a focused way to forward the talks."

According to him, the same person has been filed multiple cases- even six to seven. Discussion is therefore zeroing in on how it could be sorted out while the number of cases is more than the number of inmates. Minister Khand further informed that the government was committed to implementing the three-point agreement the former government had with the Biplav-led party.

"Government wants peace in the country. For it, all parties should join the national politics and we need to move ahead as per the constitution. Dialogue and discussion are its parts," he stressed.
