A local Nepali Congress leader has been strangled to death. The body of Purna Bahadur Budha, 56, of Darbot in Rolpa Municipality-6, who was also a regional representative of the Nepali Congress, was found in his own house on Monday night.
According to DSP Naresh Raj Subedi of the District Police Office, Rolpa, Budha was found dead in the house after the door was not opened till 11 am on Tuesday. Looking at the nature of the incident, it is not yet clear who committed the murder.
Police led by DSP Subedi reached the spot from the District Police Office and conducted investigation. As the incident was suspicious, a team including a dog was called from Nepalgunj for further investigation, said Rolpa Police. He had been living alone in the old house as his wife had died some time ago and his children were in foreign employment.
