Chiefs, members of constitutional bodies sworn in

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed various office-bearers to the vacant posts of the constitutional bodies in accordance with the Constitution of Nepal.

In the presence of the President, the newly-appointed chief commissioners, commissioners, chairpersons and members of the constitutional bodies were administered the oath of office and secrecy amidst a function at the President's Office at Sheetal Niwas today.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher JB Rana, National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina and Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokharel were also present on the occasion.

Chief Justice Rana administered the oath to the Chief Commissioner and Chair of the constitutional bodies while the Chief Commissioner and Chair of the bodies concerned administered the oath to the Commissioners and Members.

Chief Justice Rana administered the oath of office and secrecy to the Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Prem Kumar Rai, to the Chair of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Tapa Bahadur Magar and to the chairperson of the National Women Commission (NWC), Kamala Kumari Parajuli.

Similarly, the Chief Justice administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly-appointed Chair of the National Dalit Commission, Dev Raj Bishwokarma and to the Chair of the Indigenous Nationalities Commission, Ram Bahadur Thapa Magar.

On the occasion, CIAA's newly-appointed Chief Commissioner Rai administered the oath of office and secrecy to the CIAA new commissioners Kishor Kumar Silwal and Jaya Bahadur Chand.

Likewise, Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya administered oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed election commissioners — Ram Prasad Bhandari and Janaki Kumari Tuladhar.

Similarly, newly appointed Chairperson of National Human Rights Commission, Magar, administered oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed members — Surya Prasad Sharma Dhungel, Mihir Thakur, Manoj Duwadi and Lili Hajur Basnyat.

Members of National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission — Juddha Bahadur Gurung and Amar Raj Mishra, members of National Women Commission — Krishna Kumari Poudel and Bidhya Kumari Sinha, members of National Dalit Commission — Mina Devi Sob, Tunje Kami and Mahale Parkee and members of National Inclusion Commission — Ram Chandra Joshi and Hari Dutta Joshi also took oath of office and secrecy from chief of the concerned bodies.

Likewise, Chairperson of National Indigenous Nationalities Commission, Magar, administered the oath of office and secrecy to members — Dr Min Bahadur Shris, Rina Rana and Sharan Rai while chairperson of Madhesi Commission administered oath to members — Jibachha Shah, Renu Devi Shah and Bijay Kumar Gupta.

Members of Muslim Commission — Mohammadin Ali and Mirza Arshad Beg also took the oath of office and secrecy from Commission's chairperson.

Meanwhile, the newly appointed members of Tharu Commission — Subodh Singh Tharu and Bholaram Chaudhary — will take the oath of office and secrecy later as chairperson of the Commission remained absent on the occasion, according to the office of the President.
