CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has expressed commitment to creating a revolving fund on behalf of the party in the memory of Dil Bahadur Ramtel, the first martyr of the People's War.

Speaking at a program organized by Dalit Mukti Morcha in memory of Dil Bahadur Ramtel, the first martyr of the people's war, at the party's central office in Parisdanda today, he said that such a fund would be set up by providing some funds from the party.

Dil Bahadur was martyred in Gorkha on March 29, 2006, during the Maoist-led People's War. Addressing the program, Chairman Dahal said that the role of people's war was important for the establishment of a federal democratic republic. Stating that there is a tendency and idea to reverse the people's war and the values and beliefs established by it, he said that such forces still exist even though the last conspiracy to usurp the rights of the oppressed people was thwarted.

Although the coalition government is trying to establish the rights of the oppressed classes and communities through a common program, there are fears that the rights of the people will not be lost in recent days, said Dahal. "Even though an alliance has been formed for the defence of the constitution, republic and democracy, the situation is now such that the alliance will break down due to the MCC and regressive forces will not prevail again. That should be stopped, "he said." We are of the opinion that the MCC cannot be accepted without amendment. "

Chairman Dahal said that they were working with the aim of preventing the regressive alliance from coming forward or the alliance formed in favour of the country and the people. Stating that they are working with the aim of moving the MCC agreement forward and not breaking the alliance, he expressed confidence that positive results would come.

Stating that the Dalit community has an important role to play in the people's war, he said that it was not enough to give inclusive and proportional rights. He said that the state should make arrangements with special rights to empower the Dalit community and since initiatives are not enough from one place, initiatives should be taken from all sectors.

He said that the Dalit community would be liberated in a special sense only through the cultural revolution and urged to be committed to that. He pointed out the need to improve the revolutionary spirit of the past. Chairman Dahal said that even though important rights for the Dalit community were established in the constitution, there was some laxity in implementing them, adding that pressure was needed from all sectors.
