Member of Parliament Radha Gyawali drew the government's attention to the fact that there is no plan in the budget for safeguarding Nepal's territory and borders.

She was taking part in the discussions on the annual revenue and expenditure estimates (budget) of the fiscal year 2022/23 at today's meeting of the House of Representatives. She said that many irrigation projects were not in the priority of the government in the budget and the budget was allocated by the center by interfering in the jurisdiction of the local level.

Likewise, MP Bimala Nepali said that the constitution of Nepal envisaged providing land to the landless Dalit community but it has not been implemented.

MP Damodar Bhandari said that there was no basis to spend the budget brought by the current government in five months and there was no effective plan for agricultural transformation in the country.

On the occasion, MP Pramila Rai called on the government to impose 100 percent tax on tobacco products while MP Narad Muni Rana said that the budget was election-oriented and distribution-oriented even though the Constitution called for a free and self-reliant economy.

MP Parbata DC Chaudhary said that the budget was good but its implementation needs to be effective. MP Brijesh Kumar Gupta suggested that the road in Lumbini should be made four-lane.
