The government has appealed to one and all to exercise free speech by making positive use of social media.

The government meeting that took place on Tuesday made a special appeal to all users and operators of social networking sites to not spread the content that generates hatred, defamation and offense to any class, caste, religion or communal group and jeopardizes national unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, national security, relations among the federal units, and harmony among people from different caste, ethnicities and communal groups.

The decisions were shared by Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma.

Similarly, everyone is reminded of the constitutional provision that restricts publication of the content that is baseless, and hurts anyone's image, privacy, and character, disrespects labour, abets crime, untouchability and ethnic discrimination, and disobeys law and order.

The Cabinet meeting also decided to allow the presentation of a bill on Martyr Dashrath Chand University of Health Science, 2080 in the parliament.

As per government decision, even a special court regulation, 2080 has been endorsed.

The Minister further informed that the Cabinet decided to forward the bill on Construction Materials (Management and Regulation), 2080 to the federal parliament.

Since the food items and other goods are high in demand during the festivals, the government draws the attention of all business persons and entrepreneurs to not involve in inappropriate works, such as selling and distributing substandard food items and creating an artificial shortage of such items.

Those shops, enterprises, firms and persons found guilty in creating artificial shortages and making undue profit would be brought to book, the government reminded.

The government urged the consumers to call the toll free number- 1137- or notify the Hello Sarkar or the portal of the Department of Commerce if they had information about illegal activities being carried out.

The government has further intensified the market monitoring mechanism to control black marketing and food adulteration. Also, public agencies would put retail outlets of food items in various places across the country.

Strict action would be taken against those involved in black marketing and creating an artificial shortage.

Furthermore, reports on actions taken against such wrongdoers would be regularly provided for the knowledge of the general public through the related agencies, according to Minister Sharma.
