Police arrested a man on charge of trying to bribe police from Pokhara Metropolitan-17 in Kaski district on Thursday morning.
The arrested has been identified as Muktiram Paudel (35), a local resident of Phedikhola Rural Municipality-2 in Syangja district.
The bus with registration number LU 2 KHA 293 that Paudel was driving was heading towards Butwal from Pokhara. Paudel had tried to bribe by offering Rs 500 to security personnel deployed at Chhorepatan check post during a routine vehicle check. Paudel also behaved inappropriately with the police officers on duty.
The bus driver has been charged with offences against security facilities and immoral ethics and further investigation into the case is underway, informed DPO, Kaski.
Similarly, police in Sindhuli district arrested a youth on charge of trying to bribe police from Bhiman in Kamalamai Municipality-9 on Thursday night.
The arrested has been identified as Sargam Ghimire (25), a local resident of Dudhauli Municipality in the district.
Ghimire was riding a motorcycle with registration number PRA 2-02-002 PA 3607 and was heading towards Dhudauli from Bhiman. Ghimire had tried to bribe security personnel deployed at Kamalamai Municipality-9 check post in Bhiman during a routine check by offering Rs 500 during a routine vehicle check. The police also recovered one cigarette filled with marijuana from him.
Further investigation into the cases is being conducted, said the police.
