'Burn Ward' is going to be put into operation at Bir Hospital
Dr. Santosh Paudel, the newly appointed executive director of Bir Hospital, said that the ward will be put into operation within three months. The service was stopped after the building where the ward was located was destroyed by the 2016 earthquake. "Within three months, we will operate an intensive care unit with a burn ward, an intensive care unit (ICU), and a surgery room", he said, "Now we will treat burn patients."
The hospital will operate the ward from the new building. Health and Population Minister Padam Giri appointed Dr. Paudel as the executive director of the hospital on Friday. Earlier, Dr. Bhupendra Basnet was given the responsibility of acting executive officer of the Covid Unified Central Hospital (Bir Hospital).
