The agitating locals and the police have agreed to form an all-party committee to investigate the death of one person in a clash on Monday.
Navina Tharu, 19, of Madhuwan-2 in Bardiya was shot dead by police during a clash between police and locals. After Navina's death, the locals have become even more angry. The downhill area of Bardiya is tense. Even today, Gulariya Rajapur road is completely blocked. The locals are protesting.
Chief District Officer of Bardiya Bandu Bastola informed that an agreement is being reached with the locals to open the road. Attempts are being made to reach an agreement with the victims by holding a meeting of representatives of various parties including the people's representatives and handing over the bodies. According to Bardiya Superintendent of Police Birendra Bahadur Shahi, it has been decided to form an investigation committee and take action against the culprits.
