Bagmati province government preserving heritages from Lichchhavi and Malla period

Bagmati Province Government has forwarded a plan to preserve and promote heritages from the Lichchhavi and Malla periods.

The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Development has accelerated activities for the reconstruction of heritages like traditional stone spouts and different forts, which were constructed during the Lichchhavi and Malla period, and are now in a dilapidated condition in lack of protection, on the basis of originality.

Physical Infrastructure Minister Rameshwor Phuyal told RSS that reconstruction of the ancient heritages that are in dilapidated condition in lack of protection has been expedited on the basis of originality.

Reconstruction of 11 traditional stone water taps has been completed and preparation has been made to hand them over to concerned local levels within the last of the current fiscal year, shared Minister Phuyal.

He added that construction of traditional carved stone spouts each in Nuwakot, Shankharapur, and Manohara municipality of Kathmandu has been completed and it would be handed over to the concerned local levels within the last of the current fiscal year.

Saying the necessary budget has been allocated for different programmes including biodiversity conservation, wetland conservation, and rainwater harvesting in 13 districts, the Minister opined that collaboration has been made between the Social Development Ministry and Agriculture Ministry to provide employment to the people.

He shared that the construction of agro cold storage at different districts of the Province has reached the final phase, adding that the government has set a target to make farmers financially self-dependent keeping agro production and animal husbandry at top priority.

The Province Infrastructure Transport Management Directorate has already forwarded a plan of the Bagmati Province government of operating transport service at seven different cities including Kathmandu from Hetauda till the third week of May 2022, by purchasing 30 electric buses.
