Baglung section of the Kaligandaki Road has been blocked. The Kaligandaki corridor has been blocked for three days due to landslides in different places of the districts.
According to Indra Bahadur Rana Magar, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Baglung, the road was blocked due to landslide in Binamare, Arjewa and other places of Jamini Municipality.
Due to the road blockage, there has been a problem in getting to the wards from Kushmisera, the center of Jaimini municipality, and also from Butwal to Bagwal. Locals say that the road department has not shown any interest in opening the blocked road.
Similarly, locals have been suffering due to untimely construction of a bridge at Chaurikhola. According to a local official, the Bailey bridge in the river in the corridor of Kaligand has been removed and it has become difficult to cross the river on foot as the construction of another bridge has not been completed. Traffic has not been able to operate on the river under the corridor.
