The State Examination Management Board has agreed to test the answer scripts again and publish the results within 15 days.

It has been agreed to re-examine the answer sheets of the students and publish the results within 15 days in the presence of the Students' Union and school representatives. Similarly, Astha Nepali, leader of the Socialist Students' Union, informed that an agreement has been reached to provide free medical treatment to the injured students in the protests demanding a re-examination of answer sheets.

"A written agreement has been reached to publish the results as soon as possible. The fee for the re-examination of the law faculty papers will be paid by the Western Region and the Campus," said Nepali, "Some schools have not decided yet whether the students will pay or the schools' administration will."

Students of Gandaki Province, who had appeared for the law examination in class 12, had started protesting on December 5 expressing dissatisfaction with the results published by the National Examination Board. The students alleged that they were given fewer marks than they had deserved and that the examination had been neglected.

The students had staged a protest at the board premises on Sunday demanding a re-examination of the answer scripts and reconsideration of the time and fee involved in the process. Some students were even injured after the police intervened.

The law faculty was started in seven schools of Gandaki from this year. About 200 students of seven schools had been demanding a re-examination of answer sheets as the results were not as expected.

The students who bring higher grades in law faculties across the state have only received 'B Plus' grades. The students had protested saying that even the minimum grade required for graduation was not forthcoming.

The State Examination Management Board, on the other hand, said that it was not aware of the results as the answer scripts of the subjects with a low number of students were sent to the center.

The National Examination Board (NEB) had conducted the Class 12 examination from September 15 to September 24, which was postponed twice due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Two months after the examination, the board had published the results on December 3
