Police have arrested a fugitive from Budhanilkantha in Kathmandu today.
The arrested is Prakash Regmi, 37, of Siranchowk Gaonpalika-4 of Gorkha and Kathmandu Mahanagarpalika-3. He had fraudulently handed over the check to Jaherwala on October 27, 2019 AD, saying that the amount would be paid from his account in Muktinath Development Bank Limited Maharajgunj branch.
Stating that the amount of the check could not be paid, the High Court of Patan had passed the same judgment on 17th May, 2022 and had imposed one day imprisonment and fine of Rs.9,00,000.
He was absconding after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested him from Budhanilkantha and produced him in the Kathmandu District Court today.
