In two years, 50 wild animals have been rescued and treated at the wildlife hospital in Sauraha, Chitwan. During the period from 2020 to 2022, 50 wild animals of Chitwan National Park have been treated.
The hospital, which is attached to the National Nature Conservation Fund and Biodiversity Center Sauraha office, has rescued and treated 16 tigers, 5 rhinoceros, 6 elephants, 7 deer, 3 nilgai, 3 Malaha cats, 9 wild boars and 1 of each forest cats and tigers during this period. Dr. Baburam Lamichhane, head of National Nature Conservation Fund and Biodiversity Center Sauraha, informed that the hospital provides treatment services for the treatment and management of wild animals.
Veterinarian Dr. Vijay Shrestha informed that all the elephants in Hattisar are treated regularly from the hospital. He said that in addition to regular nail cutting of elephants, and injuries are treated regularly. "Besides treating other problems, more vitamins and minerals are given to the elephants", he said, "Lice and nematode medicines are also given regularly."
