Fish fry has been released in the historically important Kaligandaki river that flows through the border of Nawalparasi (east of Bardaghat-Susta) and Tanahu. The Natural Reservoir Fisheries Promotion and Conservation Center Hetauda has released 31,000 fish fry of Rahu and Naini species in the Kaligandaki River at Gaindakot-3 Bhokrephant.

Stating that there are 217 species of local species of fish in Nepal, Yadav said that Nepal has an area of 401,000 hectares of natural reservoir and out of the total 97,000 metric tonnes of fish produced in the country, 21 percent fish is produced from natural reservoirs. He said that four lakh people depend on Nepal's natural reservoirs.
