23 professors, officials of TU succumb to COVID-19

A total of 23 professors and officials of Tribhuvan University (TU) have lost their lives to coronavirus infection.

Chief of TU Information and Public Relations Division Yogendra Prasad Dahal said that 11 university teachers and 12 officials died from COVID-19.

Associate Professors Kishor Maharjan and Sher Jung Khadka, Assistant Professors Shankar Subedi, Binay Prasain, Dipak Mainali, Nima Sherpa and Umesh Yadav died due to the virus infection.

Similarly, Teaching Assistants Dharmendra Maharjan and Dol Bahadur Bhandari, part-time faculties Manoj Chaurasiya and Nabin Karn also died of coronavirus infection.

According to the Division, a total of 616 university teachers and officials of the TU have tested positive for coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the TU has suspended all the examinations following the outbreak of the second wave of the coronavirus infection.

Dahal said that most of the departments are running online classes both partially and fully.
