This year, 248 roads across the country have been damaged due to rainfall. Although 246 damaged roads have been rebuilt, two roads have not been reopened yet.
Roads are blocked at Jalibagar and Narugad in Bajhang. The Seti River had flooded about 500 meters of roads in two places. The road department has stated that the road can be opened only after the flow of water decreases.
Similarly, road at Jia Bhir is also blocked due to landslide. Attempts are being made to open the road. According to the department, only 146 roads have been partially operational since May. Currently, only 100 roads are fully operational. Arrangements were made to operate the vehicles as soon as the road was blocked.
Roads and bridges have suffered more damage this year due to more rains than last year. The Besisahar-Chame road was blocked for the longest time. Although some roads were operational after the rainy season, they were blocked again by the October rains.
