Sangita Magar has started a new chapter in her life.
Sangita Magar got married to Nischal Magar. She has also kept her marriage photo as a profile picture on Facebook. Similarly, many people in comment sections have congratulated her.
Sangita got attacked with acid while she was taking her tuition classes those days to prepare for School Leaving Examination (SLC) then, now Secondary Education Examination (SEE) in Basantapur area, Kathmandu. Jiwan BK had splashed acid on Sangita in 2015, February.
A few days after the attack, police arrested Sangita’s attacker Jiwan BK. BK told that he carried out the acid attack to seek revenge against the Magar family for mistreating him because he was a Dalit.
She subsequently fought to change laws pertaining to victims of such attacks and to the unregulated sale of acid.
Sangita's occupation as of now is 'activist'.
