Even though the climbers have started to be busy climbing various mountains in Nepal, the process of getting permission for climbing is continuing. Now some climbers have completed their ascent, but most are still climbing. But even in such a situation, the number of teams coming to Kathmandu for permits is increasing. The Department of Tourism has been giving permission to the new team to climb every day. Climbers who come for the ascent in the spring season have a special goal of climbing by the end of May. They will have to leave the base camp by the first week of June.
This spring, the number of teams getting permission to climb 25 different mountains of Nepal has reached 108. The teams from different countries have a total of 875 climbers, including 685 men and 191 women. According to the Department of Tourism, the Government of Nepal has earned 36.89 million US dollars by distributing the permit.
The mountain with the most pressure
This time the highest pressure of the climbers is on the world's highest peak, Mount Everest. 37 teams are going to climb Mt Everest. There are 302 climbers including 230 males and 72 females. The government has already collected USD 3116,000 in revenue from teams going to Everest.
Teams going to other mountains
The second highest pressure is at Lhotse Mountain. Lhotse is 8516 meters high. Eleven teams are climbing this mountain. The team consists of 81 men and 22 women. Nine teams are climbing the third arch, Amadablam Mountain. A total of 97 climbers including 79 men and 18 women are going to climb the 6814 meter high mountain.
Similarly, seven teams are climbing in Kanchenjunga and Nuptse, four teams in Annapurna I, Himlung, Makalu and The Papik Dhampus, three teams in Baruntse and Dhaulagiri. Two teams are going to Saribung Himal. There is only one climbing team in the mountains Annapurna IV, Bhimdang, Khangchung, Manaslu, Mukot, Norbukhang, Fukang, Pokharkhang, Putha Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, Ratna Chuli, Sayula and Urkanmang.
Almost all the teams that went to the mountains had the participation of Nepali guides and other allies. But 62 people, including 52 men and 10 women, have got permission to climb from the Nepal government. Various Nepali climbers are aiming to set different records this time. Among them, Kamirita Sherpa's expedition to Mt. Everest 26 times, Pasangdawa Sherpa's Mt. Everest 23 times and Lhakpa Sherpa's expedition to Mt. Everest 10 times are important.
This time, most of the women climbers are trying to climb Mt Everest. This time 72 women are going to Everest.
This time, only two male climbers are attempting to climb Gangapurna and Urkanmang Mountains.
Most American climbers
This time around, 132 climbers, including 105 men and 27 women from the United States, are climbing various mountains. The other two climbers are from the United Kingdom. Of them, 91 are males and 14 are females. India is in third place. There are a total of 58 climbers from India, including 43 men and 15 women.
Citizens of war-torn countries also in the mountains
Climbers from the war-torn Russian Federation and Ukraine have also arrived in Nepal. Twenty-eight climbers, including 19 men and 9 women, have come to Nepal from the Russian Federation, most of them climbers. Only one female climber from Ukraine is leaving for Everest.
In the past, a large number of climbers used to come to Nepal's mountains, but this time 16 climbers from Japan and 14 from the Republic of Korea have got permission.
The only countries to climb this time are Andorra, Belarus, Egypt, El Salvador, Hong Kong, Iraq, Lithuania, Malta, New Zealand, Oman, Kosovo, Saudi Arabia, Swaziland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates and Uruguay. Egypt, El Salvador, Malta, Kosovo, United Arab Emirates and Uruguay are the only countries represented by a female climber.
It is believed that the current activities in the mountains of Nepal will help to restore the tourism activities of Nepal which were in a state of zero due to Covid.
