The government has made it stricter to go abroad on a visit visa and tourist visa with effect from Thursday.
Those who want to go like this should have a passport valid for at least 6 months. Similarly, a visa from the relevant country is required, but if it is a country where an on-arrival visa is obtained, a visa is not required. Similarly, there should be a two-way ticket. Proof of hotel booking is required for the duration of the visit.
Proof of hotel booking for the duration of the visit must be shown or if staying with relatives without a hotel booking, a citizenship certificate or any other certificate must be presented to show the relationship within 3 generations of the same household. An invitation letter from a government or non-government organization that will cover all the expenses of the visit or, if not, at least 500 US dollars in cash must be shown. In which cash, debit, or credit cards can be shown.
Self-declaration is required when visiting the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and Saudi Arabia on a visit visa. According to the Immigration Department, the burden of proof of the details attached to the self-declaration rests with the concerned person.
