The study has shown that Himalayan Airlines is at the forefront in complying with safety rules among Nepali airlines. The airline has adopted the most safety measures among the Nepali planes.

The investigation committee formed by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation on 29 September 2021 has reached that conclusion after studying 10 'fixed wing' airlines and 10 helicopter companies registered and operating in Nepal.

There are a total of 75 planes and 29 helicopters in Nepal. According to the report, the air safety management system covers four issues including security policy and objectives: security risk management, security assurance and security promotion.

The committee compared the implementation status of the security management system with the three-year statistics. Based on which, Himalayan Airlines (89 percent) is seen at the forefront among the stationary wing airlines. In second place is Summit Air (81 percent), followed by Yeti Airlines (79 percent).

Earlier, in 2020, the safety rating of Himalayan Air was 83 percent. Based on these figures, the report states, "Overall, the state of operation of helicopter air safety management systems appears to be weaker than that of stationary wing airlines."

The government had formed the committee comprising Buddhisagar Lamichhane, joint secretary of the ministry, Pramod Nepal, Under secretary, Bhesraj Subedi, former director of Nepal Civil Aviation Authority and Krishna Vikram Poudel, senior captain. Secretary of the NEA was Laxman Devkota, a member of the committee.
