Helicopter tourism increases in Khaptad

About 250 domestic and foreign tourists have visited Khaptad, a major tourist destination in the far west, via helicopters.

According to his secretariat, a team including Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale also visited Khaptad through the helicopter. In collaboration with Nepal Tourism Board and Mountain Helicopters, Khaptad National Park's Promoter and Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATA) Far West, Federation of Nepali Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Far-Western and Hotel Entrepreneurs Far-Western brought Khaptad Homestay.

According to Deepak Bahadur Khadka, managing director of Khaptad Homestay Zigrana and Khaptad Adventure Tours, two foreign tourists and 248 domestic tourists have reached Khaptad through helicopter.

Helicopters have been operated for Badimalika in Khaptad National Park and major religious places, but due to heavy snowfall, helicopters have not been able to land in Badimalika. Mohan Bahadur Kalel, president of the Doti Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that it was very convenient for tourists to visit the Khaptad area after the operation of the heli-tour this time.

He said that after the operation of Helitour in the tourism sector of the region, which has been plagued by the Coronavirus epidemic for two years, it has become very easy to attract tourists. Likewise, Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Ale said that works including heli-tour would be taken forward in collaboration with the private and government sectors to attract more tourists in the religious and tourist areas in the far western region.
