Citizen Investment Trust (CIT) will be providing a special facility to workers involved in various tourism businesses and have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The trust has stated that tourism workers who want to obtain a loan from the amount that they have deposited in the Employees Saving Growth Retirement Scheme will be allowed to do so without any extra interest.
The CIT issued a statement today mentioning about the special loan facility to tourism workers. It also said that the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent prohibitory orders that were imposed by the government to control its spread had hit tourism workers the hardest, hence the introduction of the new facility.
Workers can withdraw 50 per cent of the total amount they have deposited at the trust and the payback period of the loan has been set at two years.
