According to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Department of Tourism, permits have been issued for climbing 22 different mountains, including the highest peak, Mount Everest (8,848.86 m). So far, 262 climbers from the 32 climber groups have taken permission to climb Mt. Everest.
Similarly, 94 climbers from 10 groups have taken permission to climb Mount Lhotse (8,516 m). A total of 65 climbers from six groups have been allowed to climb Amadablam (6,814 meters). A total of 67 climbers from six groups have taken permission to climb Kanchenjunga (8,586 m). Neptse (7,855 m) has 38 climbers from five groups.
Similarly, 26 groups from four have climbed Annapurna (8,091 m) and two groups have climbed Dhaulagiri (8,167 m). A statement issued by the mountaineering branch of the department said that two groups of climbers have been allowed to climb Milung Chuli, three Bhemdong, Gangapurna and Thapa Peak. So far, Rs. 395.23 million in royalties have been raised from mountaineering.
