T20 series against USA: Nepal completes a 'clean sweep'

KATHMANDU: Nepal has achieved an impressive 'clean sweep' in the T20I series against the USA.

Following their series-clinching victory in the second match, Nepal capped off the series with a convincing eight-wicket win in the final game.

In this last match, opener Ashif Sheikh played a key role, scoring a half-century with 50 runs off 39 balls, including five fours and two sixes.

His crucial partnerships with Kushal Malla and Kushal Bhurtel were vital in leading Nepal to victory.

After winning the toss and deciding to bat first, the USA managed to post 156 runs for the loss of five wickets.

Nepal had earlier won the first match by 17 runs and claimed the second match in a super over.

For the USA, Saiteja Mukkamalla was the standout player, scoring 68 runs from 51 balls, featuring five fours and two sixes.

Milind Kumar also made a noteworthy contribution, remaining not out with 43 runs off 35 balls, including four fours.

On the bowling front for Nepal, Sompal Kami excelled, taking three wickets for 27 runs in his four overs, while Rijan Dhakal and Lalit Rajbanshi each chipped in with one wicket, effectively limiting the USA's scoring.
