Nepal's Sushma Tamang won a silver medal in the women's 48 kg weight group at the ASBC Asian U22 Women's and Men's Boxing Championship in Thailand which qualifies her for the IBA Women's World Boxing Championships to be held in India.
The Nepal Boxing Association issued a statement on Tuesday saying that Tamang will directly be selected for the World Championship.
In the press release issued by the association, it was said that the selection will be held in different weight groups from February 7 to 9.
"According to the decision of the Nepal Boxing Association, since she won the silver medal in the Asian U-22 in the 48 kg weight group, we would like to inform you that it has been decided to select Sushma Tamang as participant in the Word Championship competition.”
