Nepali national cricket team leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has been declared the winner of the "ICC Player of the Month" award for the month of September.
In the ICC Player of the Month nomination released on Wednesday, Sandeep has overtaken Bangladesh spinner Nasum Ahmed and US batsman Jaskaran Malhotra.
Sandeep had taken 18 wickets in six matches in his best performance during his visit to Oman last month. He was named in the ICC Player of the Month nomination list after his outstanding performances in two ODIs against the ICC World Cup in Oman and Papua New Guinea.
Sandeep was the hero in all four victories of Nepal during his visit to Oman.
According to the ICC panel and open voting, the winner of this award has been announced. The ICC panel includes former players, journalists, and broadcasters. The ICC panel has 90 percent of the vote and 10 percent of the open vote.
