Lumbini All Stars win Nepal T20 league

Lumbini All Stars have won the title of the First Nepal T20 League. In the final held today at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, the team defeated the Biratnagar Super Kings by 24 runs to clinch the title, winning a cash prize of Rs 5.5 million.

 The first-runner went home with Rs 3 million. The Biratnagar Super Kings chasing a target of 134 posted by the Lumbini Super Kings were confined to 109 at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.

 For Lumbini Super Kings, Arjun Saud hit the highest 34 followed by 23 by Prithu Baskota and Hussain Talat 13.

 While making the Biratnagar Super Kings to limit at 109, Lumbini All Stars’ Sagar Dhakal and Harmeet Singh took two wickets each and Kishor Mahato and Bipul Sharma took one wicket each.

 Lumbini, which elected to bat first after winning the toss, made 133 runs in 19.2 overs losing all their wickets. Lahiru Milantha collected the highest 41 runs while Harmit Singh made 30 runs for Lumbini. Skipper Dipendra Singh Airee made 20 runs while Ishan Pandey 16.

 Nandan Yadav and Raj Nanana of Biratnager each took two wickets while Surya Tamang, Captain Rohit Kumar Poudel, Hussein Talat and Kion Joseph took one wicket each.

 Janakpur Royals secured the third position in the tournament and bagged Rs 1 million. Kathmandu Knights came out fourth and received Rs 500 thousand.

 Six teams - Kathmandu Knights, Janakpur Royals, Lumbini All Stars, Farwest United, Biratnagar Super Kings and Pokhara Avengers- took part in the League that kicked off on December 24.
