Chile manager Eduardo Berizzo said Tuesday he will not settle for anything less than six points from his team's FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Peru and Venezuela.

Chile are currently eighth in the 10-team South American qualifying group, having taken just one point from their opening matches against Uruguay and Colombia last month.

"I'm planning to win," Berizzo told reporters. "If I had to answer numerically speaking, I would say I'm looking for six points because we do not plan a game thinking that one point is satisfactory."

Chile will host Peru in Santiago on Thursday before confronting the Vinotinto in the eastern Venezuelan city of Maturin next Tuesday.

Berizzo said he expects a tough encounter against a Peru side that is led by the country's all-time leading scorer Paolo Guerrero.

"The teams are so closely matched," the 53-year-old Argentine said. "Any differences between the sides are minimal and that's why I think the finer details will make the difference in the end."

"They have Paolo [Guerrero] who is still scoring goals but they don't just depend on him. They will challenge us in every way because of their technical ability, their system and their ability to generate results," he added.
