After 36 years, Argentina won World Cup football title

South American country Argentina won the FIFA World Cup football tournament title after 36 years.

In the final match of the 22nd edition held today at Lusail Stadium in Doha, Qatar, Argentina scored a hat-trick in the World Cup title by defeating France by 4-2 in a tiebreaker. Previously, Argentina has won the title twice in 1978 and 1986.

Argentina lost to Saudi Arabia in the first match of the group stage of the World Cup, but managed to lift the title. Argentina previously reached the final in 2014. Argentina lost to Germany in the final.

In the 23rd minute of the game, Argentinian player Leolan Messi took the lead by scoring a penalty. France's Ousmane Dembele tackled Argentina's Angel Di Maria inside the penalty area and the referee gave a penalty. Taking advantage of that, Messi scored a goal.

In the 36th minute of the game, Di Maria scored the second goal for Argentina and doubled the lead. The ball hit by Maria from the penalty area turned into a goal.

In the 80th minute of the game, Kylian Mbappe scored a penalty for France, and in the 81st minute, Mbappe scored another goal to tie the game. The match was extended to extra time after the match ended in a tie of two goals.

Messi scored in the 109th minute for Argentina in the extra time. Lautaro Martinez's shot from inside the penalty area was saved by the goalkeeper Lloris, but Messi managed to score on the rebound, and with 3 minutes of extra time left, Kylian Mbappe scored a penalty for France and tied the game at 3-3.

After both teams scored one goal each in the extra time, the match ended in a 3-3 draw and the match went to a tiebreaker.

Argentina managed to win the title after goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez shined in the tiebreaker. Lionel Messi, Paulo Dybala, Lindro Parades and Gonzalo Monti scored on penalties for Argentina. Kylian Mbappe and Randel Kolo Muwani only scored from the penalty spot for France, who became runners-up, while Kinsley Koeman and Arulin Chuwameni failed to score. Previously, France became the winner in 1998 and 2018.

Golden Boot to Mbappe

France's Kylian Mbappe, who scored the most goals in the tournament with eight goals, won the Golden Boot. He scored eight goals in seven matches of the tournament. He got the golden boot behind Argentina's Lionel Messi. Argentina's Lionel Messi scored seven goals in seven games.

In addition, Argentina's goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez was the best goalkeeper, while "youngest player" was Enzo Fernandez.
