Upendra Yadav leads vote count in Bara 2

The vote count is underway for the by-election in constituency no 2 of the Bara district. The Chairman of Janata Samajbadi Party, Upendra Yadav, is leading the vote count till 7:00 am.

Yadav has secured 10,199 votes so far while Janamat Party's Shivchandra Prasad Kushbaha got 6,800 votes.

They are followed by UML candidate Purushottam Paudel with 4,011 votes, according to the Office of the Chief Returning Officer.

The vote count is underway at Education Training Centre, Kalaiya, amidst tight security.

The post of House of Representatives member was lying vacant in Bara-2 after the earlier HoR member Ramsahay Prasad Yadav became Vice President. The by-election was held on April 23.

The constituency recorded a 65 percent voter turnout in the by-election.
