A meeting of the parties in the ruling alliance decided to file candidacy of Nepali Congress' parliamentary party leader Uddhab Thapa for the post of Chief Minister of Koshi Province.
The meeting of the ruling parties was held at the prime minister's official residence in Baluwatar.
Acting Chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) Rajendra Pandey said that the meeting held under the chair of Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman decided to make NC's Thapa as the Chief Minister. He added that the ruling alliance will take further decisions on other remaining seats.
Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki of Koshi Province was relieved of his post on Friday after failing to get a vote of confidence from the Province Assembly.
