Parliamentarians of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have registered a resolution motion at the federal parliament secretariat demanding withdrawal of Constituency Infrastructure Development Programme.

The RSP parliamentarians called upon the Ministry of Finance to immediately stop allocating funds for the programme, arguing that the public resource would not be properly utilized.

RSP vice-president and Member of Parliament Dol Prasad Aryal, Sumana Shrestha, Santosh Pariyar, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, Ganesh Parajuli and Manish Jha, among others registered the resolution motion at the parliamentary secretariat.

"Launching such a programme in an economically difficult time would add financial burden among the general public. It has raised questions on budget credibility", the motion stated.

The RSP asked the government to scrap the programme and utilize its resources for other development efforts.

Meanwhile, ANNFSU, students organisation close to the main opposition, CPN (UML), submitted a memo to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Devraj Ghimire, demanding the removal of the infrastructure development fund proposed in the budget for the fiscal year 2080/81.

The team led by Samik Badal, the president of the organization, submitted the memorandum to Speaker Ghimire at Singha Durbar.
