The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to elect Bindabasini Kanshakar as lawmaker under proportional category of election.
A central committee meeting of the party held on Wednesday expelled its lawmaker under proportional category Dr Dhaka Kumar Shrestha from the party and decided to elect Kanshakar as the lawmaker.
RSP Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane shared that the party decided to remove Shrestha from the post of lawmaker and party's general member because he was found involved in defaming the party by seeking bribes.
The party also took the decision to inform the Parliament Secretariat about sacking Shrestha from lawmaker post and file an application at the Election Commission seeking Bindabasini Kanshakar's election to the vacant post. It argued that Kanshakar is in top rank of the closed list under the proportional category submitted at the EC earlier.
