Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) is in Nepal's interest. Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the 8th National General Convention of the CPN-Maoist Center which started in Kathmandu on Sunday, PM Deuba talked about MCC and why it is good for the nation.
He said, "I am the Prime Minister of Nepal, will I go against Nepal? I am also a person who fought for democracy." Deuba, who is also the Nepali Congress president, said that discussions were going on between the ruling parties about MCC. "We are discussing with other leaders," he said. "MCC is in Nepal's interest. This is free money." he had added.
He said that he was confident that the MCC would be passed on the basis of consensus after extensive discussions.
