Chairperson of CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, has said his party would take the election of the country's new President as sharing of power.

Talking to media persons here Tuesday, Nepal said that no concrete proposal was made before him for becoming the President. "Rumours abound in the political circle. However, no final decision has been taken on it. Although having an intention is one thing, I've not thought of anything about becoming the President," he observed.

His party had not decided about President's candidacy, Chairperson Nepal said, adding that the party however had a stake in power sharing. "It is unwise to sacrifice always for others," he maintained.

According to leader Nepal, a comprehensive discussion is imperative. "Although the media report came that UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli proposed him of becoming President, I think it is appropriate to not disclose everything on it now," Chairperson Nepal commented. Moreover, he said everything that comes from the media is not true. So, it is not wise to speak in haste, added the former Prime Minister.

Moreover, all sides should be serious about the protection of national interests. "We must be aware to protect the constitution and take ahead the country towards socialism," he underscored.
