Nepali Congress has issued a whip to its lawmakers to be present at the meeting of the House of Representatives today.

Nepali Congress, which is the ruling party of the country at the moment, has issued a whip to its lawmakers to be present at the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) today.

The House of Representatives will be meeting for the first time today at 4 pm after the Supreme Court issued a verdict on July 12 to reinstate the House and appoint Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba as prime minister of the country.

Following the verdict, Deuba was appointed prime minister by President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on July 13. As per the constitution, the prime minister will have to seek a vote of confidence at the HoR within 30 days of their appointment to the post and PM Deuba will be doing so today.

The whip for all lawmakers to be present today at the HoR was issued by a meeting of the Parliamentary Party lawmakers of Nepali Congress which was held at the Lhotse Hall of the Federal Parliament. Pushpa Bhusal, whip of Nepali Congress, mentioned that lawmakers of all the parties within the alliance are expected to vote in favour of Deuba and he would get a majority of the votes.
