In the closed session of the Eighth National General Convention of the CPN (Maoist Center), the delegates will continue to present the results of the collective discussion on the political and legislative draft report.
The Election Commission of the UCPN (M) has stated that it has a schedule to approve both the reports and start the formal process of selection of new leadership after the conclusion of the discussion.
Commission chief Bishnu Pukar Shrestha said that they were preparing for the election. Shrestha told online news, "As soon as the draft constitution is passed, the election schedule will probably be published today. We are in a state of readiness for voting."
Twenty-five groups have been formed to discuss the political report submitted by Chairman Prachanda last Monday and the draft legislation submitted by leader Dev Gurung. Team leaders of 11 of them have already given their views on Wednesday. The rest of the team will present their views today. Each team leader is given 15 minutes to announce the outcome of the group discussion.
A three-member team has been formed to document the presentation. Instructions have been issued to keep the findings of the group discussions in writing.
