Most of the offices providing public services in Kaski district have reduced their services with the increase in the number of infections during the third wave of COVID-19 pandemic.

These offices have suspended their services after their employees started to be infected one after other. Some of these offices have completely shut down their services while some more are partially operating their services. These offices are the ones which saw crowds of service-seekers on normal days.

The local governments too have halted services related to public contact except the essential ones. The District Administration Office, the District Land Revenue Office, the District Land Survey Office, the District Transport Management Office have suspended their services.

Although the District administration has issued an order prohibiting assembly of more than 25 persons, people were seen crowding at these offices providing public services without heeding the order, which contributed to spreading the infection.

The District Administration Office has suspended its services except the essential ones for an indefinite period beginning from today in view of the COVID-19 risk.

Similarly, the District Land Revenue Office and the District Land Survey Office have closed their services from today until January 31 after their employees became infected with COVID-19.

The District Transport Management Office has also closed most of its services except a few until further notice as some of its employees have become infected while some have shown symptoms of coronavirus infection.

Likewise, the local governments in Kaski district have suspended their services barring the essential ones. Machhapuchchhre and Madi rural municipalities have closed their services for a week.

The number of cases of coronavirus infection is increasing in the district. In the last 24 hours, coronavirus infection has been confirmed in 456 people including 216 females and 240 males, the Provincial Health Directorate said.
