The government and the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) led by Netra Bikram Chand today held a discussion on the implementation of three-point agreement reached earlier between the two sides.

The meeting held at the Ministry of Home was attended by Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dilendra Prasad Badu, Attorney General Kham Bahadur Khati, Home Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey and Law Secretary Udaya Raj Sapkota from the government and CPN’s Spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma on behalf of the CPN.

The progress of the agreement reached on 4 March 2021 was reviewed in the meeting, said Home Ministry’s spokesperson Fanindra Mani Pokharel.

The meeting also focused on the withdrawal of court cases against CPN’s leaders and cadres if it is feasible at the earliest.

On the occasion, party spokesperson Bishwokarma submitted details of party leaders and cadres who have been jailed and are facing court cases.

After the meeting, leader Bishwokarma responded that the government seemed positive about the implementation of their demands and a timeline to implement the three-point agreement was developed in the meeting. “Some issues have been settled. Some others are on the way to be sorted out. We hope that other unsettled issues would be cleared soon,” he said.
