UML's 11 lawmakers including Nepal, Khanal expelled from party

12 others asked to furnish clarification within 24 hours

CPN-UML's Standing Committee meeting today expelled its 11 members including former prime ministers Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal. They have been expelled from party.

The SC meeting took such a decision after 11 UML lawmakers including senior leader Nepal and Khanal refused to furnish their clarification sought by the meeting held earlier on May 22.

Lawmakers Nepal, Khanal, Bhim Rawal, Kalyani Khadka, Sarala Yadav, Pushpa Karna, Laxmi Chaudhary, Mukunda Neupane, Ram Kumari Jhakri, Kalila Khatun and Nira Devi Jairu were dismissed from their general membership of the party.

Likewise, today's SC meeting has sought clarification from 12 other members of the party and has asked to furnish the clarification within 24 hours.

Leaders Ghanashyam Bhusal, Surendra Prasad Pandey, Bhawani Khapung, Yagya Raj Sunnuwar, Birok Khatiwada, Jeevanram Shrestha, Krishna Lal Maharjan, Som Prasad Pandey, Metmani Chaudhary, Jhapat Rawal, Deepak Prakash Bhatta and Narayan Khatiwada have been given the ultimatum to furnish the clarification within 24 hours. 

Likewise, the SC meeting also decided to withdraw the UML's support to chief minister of Sudurpaschim Province, Trilochan Bhatta.
