Nepali Congress has won the election for the post of chairperson and vice-chairperson by defeating JASPA in Tirhut village municipality of Saptari district. According to the Election Officer's Office, Vijay Yadav has been elected as the chairman of the Tirhut village municipality of the district. He won the village municipality with 3,556 votes.
His nearest rival Hemant Kumar Bahadkher Yadav of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal has garnered only 2,986 votes. Similarly, Binadevi Goit Yadav of the Nepali Congress has been elected as the vice-chairperson. She got 3,051 votes. Her nearest rival, the Janata Samajwadi Party's vice-presidential candidate Ramwati Devi Mandal, has got 3,020 votes.
