The CPN (Maoist Centre) has clinched a victory in the election for the Member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from the Nuwakot electoral constituency-1. Hit Bahadur Tamang, a common candidate of the ruling alliance, obtained 26,548 votes to defeat his nearest competitor Badri Mainali of the CPN (UML) who finished with 23,463, according to election officer Tekraj Bhusal. The difference in votes between the two is 1,112. A total of 63,379 votes were cast on November 20 and the counting was completed this morning.
