Residents who have been living in Tarapur of Shuklaphanta National Park for two decades have been deprived of basic services. The residents of the camps have been deprived of drinking water, medicine, education and other services. 92 families displaced during the park expansion have been living in huts in the camps. Most of the families have been displaced from Pipladi Village Municipality-1 and 2 of Savik.

After the restructuring of the local level, Pipladi VDC has been included in the Shuklaphanta Municipality.

Residents who have been living in camps in the park say that they are being deprived of the process of migration, birth registration and marriage registration at the local level. Residents of the camp have complained that they have not been able to get new citizenship.

"We have been living like refugees in our own country," said Nara Bahadur Bista. There is a situation where you have to live in a hut suffering from the disease. ” As the young people go to India to support their families, only the elderly and women in the camp stay. He said that it was not possible to reach the health post if any one fell ill in the camp.

"Last year, the municipality distributed jhul in the settlement near the camp," said Narivan Dhungal. Allegations of illegal settlement were not allowed. With the onset of summer, we can't sleep in huts because of mosquitoes. ”

Residents living in some parts of the park have been cultivating the land. Due to unseasonal rains, even the residents living in the park have suffered losses in paddy cultivation.

"Even though the Shuklaphanta municipality has been collecting data for the compensation of the farmers in the city, it has taken the separate data of the residents of the camp and closed the file," said Laxman Saud.

"With the announcement of the date of local elections, leaders and activists of political parties have started appearing in the camps. Those who won five years ago by asking for immediate reinstatement did not return. This time too, they are saying that the re-establishment will take place immediately, "said Saud." How can you believe it? "
