Foundation stone laid to Madhes Agriculture University

Rajbiraj, Jan 23: Chairman of Janata Samajbadi Party, Upendra Yadav, laid a foundation stone to the Madhes Agriculture University here Monday. He expressed happiness over the realization of the dream to set up the agriculture university, which he argued, would contribute to economic prosperity of the country.

"I believe the skilled human resources to be produced from this university would help create jobs and prop up economic prosperity," he said, vowing support from his side for the construction of the building.

On the occasion, Chief Minister of Madhes Province, Saroj Kumar Yadav, pledged all sorts of cooperation to ensure finance for completing the undertaking. He encouraged the university people to move ahead with high morale.

Similarly, former chief minister Lal Babu Raut reminded that decision to establish Agriculture University at Rajbiraj was made when he was the chief minister. He claimed that the endeavour would now be a province's pride project.

Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Gobinda Bahadur Neupane, also said it was a matter of pride to have the agriculture university in Saptari. It must be kept in priority because only agriculture could be a solid base for prosperity of the province and country.

Vice Chancellor of Madhes Agriculture University, Dr Baidyanath Mahato, informed about the university. A total of 12 buildings would be constructed for the university. The multi-year project has been contracted for the construction at Rs 1 billion.

The construction would cover 26 bighs and 8 katthas of land, it was shared.
