'All bodies in society should be active to end corruption'

Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, has said that the government was determined to end corruption.

Responding to queries raised by lawmakers on 'Corruption Control (First Amendment) Bill-2077' received from the National Assembly with a message in today's meeting of the House of Representatives, Minister Sharma said all bodies of the society should be equally active to control corruption.

She pointed out the need of paying special attention to formulating laws to stop policy-level corruption, adding that collective efforts were necessary to end corruption.

Commitments and collective campaigns were necessary to control corruption, shared Minister Sharma.

The meeting passed the 'Corruption Control (First Amendment) Bill, 2077' with a majority vote.

Earlier in the meeting, Minister Sharma on behalf of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal presented a proposal seeking consideration on 'Corruption Control (First Amendment) Bill, 2077'.

On the occasion, Speaker Devraj Ghimire offered 72 hours to the lawmakers to their amendment proposal in the Bill section if they have anything to be included for the amendment. The HoR will meet next on April 26.
