5 terrorists, 1 soldier killed in clash in NW Pakistan

It does this by conducting frequent presence patrols throughout the province. The PRT also supports the provincial and local government by providing advice and assistance to the Provincial Governor, the Afghan National Police and district sub-governors. Thirdly the NZ PRT identifies, prepares and provides project management for NZAID projects within the region. These are contracted to Afghan companies who hire local workers to assist with the completion of these projects. Thus each project provides new amenities, and also provides employment in the region.

A soldier of the Pakistani army and five terrorists were killed in a clash in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, an army statement said on Sunday.

The intense exchange of fire took place when security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan district of the province, the military's media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in the statement.

The killed five terrorists had been involved in terrorist activities against security forces, targeted killings and kidnappings for ransom, the statement said, adding that weapons and ammunition including submachine guns and hand grenades were seized from their possession.
