99 percent of adults vaccinated in Syangja

Ninety-nine percent of Syangja's adults have been vaccinated against COVID-19 with the first dose. Basundhara Sharma, head of the health office in Syangja, said that out of the target number of 163,840 people above the age of 18 years, 162,382 people have been vaccinated in the district.

As of last Friday, 119,785 people in the district have taken a second dose against COVID-19. From 11 municipalities, 39,455 people have applied the first dose in Putalibazar municipality, 28,017 in Waling, 18,083 in Galyang, 12,634 in Chapakot, and 11,897 in Bhirkot Municipality have applied the first dose.

Similarly, 10,826 in Kaligandaki, 10,316 in Biruwa, 8,100 in Harinas, 7,831 in Andhikhola, 7,614 in Fedikhola, and 7,582 in Arjunchaupari have applied the first dose. The municipality of Waling has the highest number of second dose recipients (24,510).

24,137 people of Putalibazar, 12,102 of Bhirkot, 9,057 of Chapakot, and 8,734 of Galyang have also applied the second dose. Similarly, 10,207 people from Kaligandaki, 8,310 from Biruwa, 7,241 from Arjunchaupari, 6,559 from Andhikhola, 6,319 from Fedikhola, and 2,609 people from Harinas have got the second dose of vaccination. Chief Sharma said, Covishield, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson vaccines have also been given against the COVID-19.

"We have already vaccinated 99 percent of the people above the age of 18 years with the first dose," said Chief Sharma. He informed that the vaccination for the second dose will be started soon. According to Chief Sharma, preparations have been made to vaccinate about 29,000 children in the age group of 12 to 17 years.
