Puja or pooja is a Hindu, Buddhist, or Jains worship ceremony that involves paying devotional tribute and praying to one or more deities, hosting and honoring a guest, or spiritually celebrating an event. It may be used to honor or commemorate the presence of exceptional visitors, as well as their memory after they have passed away. The Sanskrit word pooj denotes reverence, honor, tribute, adoration, and worship. The primary ritual of Hinduism is puja, which is the loving gift of light, flowers, water, or food to the god. The divine is seen in the image for the worshipper, and the divinity sees the worshipper. Darshan, or seeing, is the relationship between a human and a deity, or between a human and a teacher.
