We are at present confined within our homes due to the prohibitory order and most of us have more time than we ever thought we would have.

But we cannot always slouch in our couches, right?

Just like you, I am no professional to tell you what to do but there are a few things I have been doing to kill time these days while isolated and locked inside the four walls. So if you are bored at home, here are some things you could do to add fun to your life. This might even be the best time to do things which we always wanted to but never had the time for!

Taking up a new hobby!

Right now our world seems to have shrunk. We have to stay at home but it is to keep us and our loved ones safe. Our world may look small, yet the horizon is still wide and open.

We can always learn something new. If you want to learn how to use a sewing machine, go for it. You probably have a smartphone in your hand, so open a YouTube video on it and get going.

Maybe toy could also learn how to cook, presuming that you don’t know. If you live alone, call your mom and ask her how to make your favourite dish. You will not only get to learn a recipe but also get to connect with your mother.

Or you can always pick up the novel that you so wanted to read but has been gathering dust on your bookshelf.

Taking an online class!

It is never a bad thing to learn new skills, right? There are lots of companies and websites that offer free online classes for academic subjects and work skills.

Maybe you can learn how to edit your own movies or join a writing class! Adding to your qualifications can make it easier to get the job you always wanted.

Start working out

Maybe it is time to start working out as well.

Since we stay in all day long, our body does not get the essential movement it needs.

And if you start working out daily, you will realise that your body feels lighter.

To start working out, you do not even need gym accessories. You can always search for workout videos on YouTube or search for a workout app.

For the first few days it is going to be difficult but once you set a routine and work out consistently nothing is impossible.

Meditate

If by any chance you think working out is not for you, then you can always try meditation.

Along with our body the lockdown might affect our mental wellbeing as well, so meditation will help you get a bit of peace of mind.

Find a quiet little place at home, light a scented candle, and put on therapeutic meditation music.

It will help you relieve your stress and improve your wellbeing.

Stay connected with your friends and family

We cannot always stay positive and be inspired to do something new during this time.

After all, we are social beings and we yearn for human connections.

At present, it is better for all of us to keep the distance and stay away from each other. And trust me this is the new way of showing love and care.

We do miss meeting people, however this is the time to make optimum use of our smartphones and social media.

If you are feeling lonely and missing your loved ones, just give them a call and tell them how much you miss them.

Not only will you feel better but you will make their day as well.
